Independence and assurance for public companies
Financial Statement Audits in accordance with PCAOB
The auditing of financial statements included in Form 10-K and Form 10-Q for public companies is one of EFP Rotenberg’s core competencies, handled by our dedicated public company practice team for more than 70 publicly traded companies. For a regional firm, we have a very significant audit practice for public companies, which extends both nationally and internationally.

The purpose of an audit is to provide investors and other stakeholders with a clear, honest picture of your business. We maintain strict independence and the highest ethical standards when completing your audit.
Our broad range of auditing clients has given us exposure to a great number of industries and markets, which we often leverage to better understand the technical aspects of your reports. Because we are a broad-based regional accounting firm, we also regularly tap the expertise of our tax partners to fully understand complex tax elements reflected in your financial statements.
Senior-level involvement for speed, efficiency, accuracy
We assign senior-level managers and partners to our audit engagements, generally assisted by staff with specific experience with your company or similar companies.
Because of our size and lean approach, we can be agile and quick. We don’t have to “call the national office” to get an answer to a question. There’s no bureaucracy for us to untangle. We can make decisions on the spot. And that means a faster trip to the market for you.
Sufficient staffing for audit rotation requirements
We have the bench strength to rotate partners assigned to our SEC assurance engagements in accordance with requirements. A minimum of two partners, a primary and a concurring engagement partner, are assigned to an SEC audit client. No partner serves for more than five consecutive years on a particular SEC audit client.
We have found audit partner rotation to be a beneficial experience for both our clients and the firm. It enhances the quality of our work and helps foster a better relationship with our clients because they get to know more of our team members. As a result, clients have better access to our firm when the need arises.
EFP Rotenberg is registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), the five-member board charged with administrative responsibilities under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. We are subject to the tri-annual inspection process of our public company clients by the PCAOB as mandated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition, we are inspected by the AICPA and conduct our own internal inspection reviews.
