The area is host to a number of institutions of higher learning, including SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo,University of Rochester, Nazareth College, St. John Fisher College andRochester Institute of Technology.
  • is big on business. It’s the second largest economy in New York State, after New York City, and major corporations like Eastman Kodak, Xerox, and Paychex are headquartered here. It’s also home to a vast array of emerging technology companies.

Arts

Rochester has a rich cultural tradition, with world-class museums and a host of musical and theatrical offerings.

Recreation

Interested in the outdoors? We’re blessed with numerous parks within the city and its suburbs, as well as wilderness areas nearby. And don’t forget about the beautiful Finger Lakes, dotted with hundreds of wineries, many of which are achieving international recognition.

Find information about all of our Monroe County parks. You’ll also find fishing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, running, bicycling…if you can think of it, there’s a place to do it in Rochester.

Festivals? We love them, from the annual Corn Hill Arts Festival to Rochester Harbor and Carousel Fest to Rochester River Romance. Check them all out in the city’s community events calendar.

For recreation of a different kind, go to the place where everyone takes their out-of-town guests: Wegmans, our homegrown, internationally known grocery store. From the cheese shop to the patisserie to the sushi station, Wegmans is a wonderful world of food.

Sports

Plus you can root for our adopted team, the Buffalo Bills, during annual summer training camp in Rochester at St. John Fisher College.

Golf is a Rochester obsession. We have more than 95 golf courses and more golf holes per capita than any other industrial city in the northeast. Every year, the world’s best professional women golfers come to town for the Wegmans LPGA Tournament, and many other years find us hosting another major golf event.

The Finger Lakes: stunningly beautiful, small-town charming

There are 11 Finger Lakes that span the distance between Rochester and its eastern city neighbor, Syracuse. These glacier-formed lakes are exceptionally deep and long (hence, finger lakes) and create an unsurpassed natural beauty. A growing tourist destination for their wineries, local cheese and fruit, outdoor activities and charming villages with unique shops, the Finger Lakes are also increasingly considered a great place to live year-round.

EFP Rotenberg’s main Finger Lakes office is located in Canandaigua, NY, at the northern end of Canandaigua Lake. From there we work with clients in a number of other communities, including Aurora, Auburn, Geneva, Hammondsport, Ithaca, Naples, Penn Yan, Seneca Falls and Watkins Glen. Ithaca is home to Cornell University and Ithaca College.

The Southern Tier: big country, rolling hills

EFP Rotenberg has offices in both Corning and Elmira, NY, in the state’s central Southern Tier. The rolling hills of the Southern Tier are rich in Native American history, agriculture, antiques and opportunities for outdoor activities. The State University of New York has colleges at Alfred and Wellsville.

Corning is home to the world-famous Corning, Inc., a Fortune 500 materials maker most famous for its glass. Elmira is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Mark Twain.
